User cannot connect to dataverse table from app

I'm new to PowerApps so forgive me ahead of time.

I've built an app that connects back to a dataverse table, this has worked flawlessly using the administrator account I used to build it. The app pulls through the dataverse table data fine. I've shared this app with another admin in our business and they could also see the data and use the app.

I purchased a "Power Apps per app plan" and have assigned that to the environment (default) hosting the dataverse table and app.

I've shared the app with an unlicensed user (intended to be a security person), that can log into powerapps and see the app however the data isn't pulling through from the dataverse table. Do I need to add this user account to an access list for the table and if so, where/how do I do this?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Best regards,
Rob

Since the user can see the app but not the data, this is likely a permissions issue with Dataverse. Here's what you need to check and do:

    1. Ensure the User Has a Power Apps License

Since you assigned a Power Apps per app plan, ensure the unlicensed user has been assigned to that specific app under the environment.

    • Go to Power Platform Admin Center → Environments → Select your Default environment.
    • Click Users, find the security person's name, and ensure they have been assigned the Power Apps per app plan.

    2. Grant Dataverse Table Permissions

Even with a license, users need Dataverse security roles to access the data. Follow these steps:

✅ Assign a Security Role to the User

    1. Go to Power Apps → Dataverse → Tables.
    2. Find the table your app is using.
    3. Click the Manage Permissions option.
    4. Make sure the user has at least Basic User or a custom role that allows read access to the table.

✅ Manually Assign a Security Role

If needed, explicitly assign a security role to the user:

    1. Open Power Platform Admin Center.
    2. Select Environments → Choose your Default environment.
    3. Click Settings → Expand Users + Permissions → Select Users.
    4. Find the user, click on them, and then Manage Security Roles.
    5. Assign them Basic User or another appropriate security role that includes Read permissions for your Dataverse table.

    3. Test Again

Once the permissions are updated, have the user refresh the app and check if they can now see the data.
