New Analysis Engine - Are Microsoft monitoring and acting upon this Thread?

Hi All,
I posted an issue that I had observed in a Canvas App a few days ago whereby code that used ShowColumns from a Dataverse table followed by AddColumns for more complex column manipulations was not working correctly after I switched the new analysis engine on. On closer inspection I noticed that the resulting collection only contained the columns defined in the AddColumns function (not those from ShowColumns).

Today, I decided to test this code with the New Analysis Engine switched back on and "Hey Presto" everything is working.

I wonder if MS is monitoring this thread (as you would hope) and silently fixing bugs that are raised.?

Regards, Craig

P.S. It is frustrating that I am unable to reply to my original post or to mark a reply as a suggested solution.

Microsoft's announcement about the new engines mandatory use in February 2025 sends people to this forum. Have not observed a single response from Microsoft Engineers in the last 2 weeks.

MS definitely monitors these forums and even responds as well as silently fixes bugs all the time, especially breaking bugs.

All I can say is that there are many posts for Microsoft Engineers that have gone unaddressed. I am glad they might fix things but in secret is not acceptable. They need to follow up and confirm actions by posting here.

Based on my experience, if it's a major bug or incident with a global impact, posting about it here often leads to a quicker resolution than creating a support ticket. This is because submitting a ticket involves multiple steps, including going through support agents before it reaches the engineers.

So yes, I believe they actively monitor this forum, even if they don't always respond directly.

@IAmIntractable - this isn't the forum for that though. This is more for people in the community to help each other out but Microsoft happens to monitor and post themselves sometimes.

The first channel for any bugs would be to create a support ticket and Microsoft will provide all the details that way. Otherwise there is a section in the Admin Center with Known Issues - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/view-known-issues

    Hi All,

Could you please help with understanding the words 'automatically migrated' in the message center regarding New Analysis Engine - 'All canvas apps in your environment that still use the old analysis engine will be automatically migrated in February 2025.'.

Does it mean Microsoft will turn on New Analysis Engine feature in all canvas apps and re-publish them? (Which is not possible I think)

And the main question will it be possible to turn New Analysis Engine off in the apps after February 2025?

    Hi All,
Amendment to the post above, I do still have the issue that I had observed in a Canvas App a few days ago whereby code that used ShowColumns from a Dataverse table followed by AddColumns for more complex column manipulations is not working correctly after the new analysis engine is switched on.

    Please fix this Microsoft.

    Kind Regards, Craig
