Hello Everyone,
Here is my situation:
I have two custom related tables in Dataverse.
Sales Order Table (Parent Table)
- Sale Order Line Items Table (Related to Sales Order Table; Many-To-One)
In the Sales Order Table, I created a column called Total Value of Sale (Data Type: Currency), which is a Rollup to aggregate the SUM of all the Total Sale Per Line (Data Type: Currency) in the Sale Order Line Item Table.
The relationship between the two tables
- One-To-Many from the Sales Order table perspective
- Many-To-One from the Sale Order Line Items table perspective
My issue: The rollup value is not displaying in the Sales Order table.
I tried recreating tables, the relationships, and refreshing data... but no luck.
Any ideas on how I can fix the problem?
Yup that's correct, calculated columns that use other calculated columns are considered complex. A common workaround is to use Power Automate to calculate your rollups.
Thank you for the response!
According to the docs, one of the limitations is that "rollup column formula can't reference complex calculated columns. Only calculated columns that reference simple columns in the same record can be used with rollups."
For my situation, the Total Per Line column in the Sale Order Line Item table would be considered a complex calculated column I think...
Here is how it is calculated:
Total Per Line = TotalSellPrice - TotalCost
- TotalSellPrice = TotalWeightInLbs * SellPricePerPound
- TotalCost = TotalWeightInLbs * CostPerPound
-- TotalWeightInLbs = more calculated columns...
Thank you for pointing me to the docs!
Hi @airbornesql,
If you just created the rollup field(s) then this is normal. Rollups columns/fields are calculated every 12h. It is a known limitation not to process in real-time not to effect performance of the system.
More info: https://learn.microsoft.com/power-apps/developer/data-platform/calculated-rollup-attributes?#rollup-columns
Note: that are some open source tools to force the roll up field calculation. A popular one is https://github.com/demianrasko/Dynamics-365-Workflow-Tools, see action Force Calculate Rollup.
Hope this helps!
