App lifecycle issues

hi, i'm having issues with administering my app, it seems it won't update my changes.

I have 2 env, DEV (sandbox) and PROD, on the app splash screen I always place a version number to quickly keep track of the changes.

  1. In my PROD env I start with an app which in the splash screen shows v. 1.0
  2. I open my DEV env, go to App and do fix to my app. I also change the version label from a 1.0 version to a 1.1
  3. still inside my DEV env, I go to solution, export and use the managed export
  4. I open the PROD env
  5. press import
  6. select upgrade(also tried with update but same result)
  7. I open the app and it shows the version 1.0, like it didnt upload the new version

what am I doing wrong? I need to replace/update the old version with the one i just imported, with all the fixes and new features...

App LifeCycle - what's the correct use of environments?

    @Antonioclk

    Did you try "Publishing all customizations" before exporting it to a managed solution?

    @Antonioclk

    The next thing to check does your app or other components got unmanaged layers, this could cause an issue with upgrade

    @Antonioclk

    when we try to make changes to a managed solution components it creates a unmanaged layer. Go to production env and remove the unmanaged layer and try upgrading the solution.

    The video at this current timestamp shows the managed and unmanaged layer of solution. Hope that helps with layers in the solution.
