Obtaining a MS365 developers account

Evening all,

Ive always used the work environment to build apps, but they’ve asked I use my developer account to try some new stuff on power apps and teams.  I just agreed at the time.

Truth be told I’ve never actually had a developers account. So thought maybe I’ll open one. Used my personal hotmail account, which I’ve had for any years. Filled in all the details, but it said I don’t Qualify for a MS365 sandbox subscription account and that’s it. I used the company name etc, and completed all questions fully.

Not sure what I’m suppose to do here! Any advice on how I get one.

Quite annoying as they want me to look at it next week 😟

Why not make a developer enviroment in your work tenant?

    Also, check here https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/dev-program

You only have to create an account

That could be an option, but I've got some stuff I want to test for another company. Thought this way I could work on both.

would just make things alot easier.

    Hi @Theoriginal1981

As of last month, only users with Visual Studio Enterprise subscriptions or those who participate in the AI Cloud Partner Program are eligible for the developer plan. If you or your company don't meet that criteria, that's the most likely cause of the error about not 'qualifying for a MS365 sandbox subscription account'. There are more details about this in the post below:

I agree with @enriqueglopez that the best solution is to create a developer environment in your work account. Apart from users, you can keep everything else that's related to the other company separate.

The only other option is to purchase a separate Microsoft 365 plan and to use that for your development purposes.

    Thanks appreciate the update.

I will use the method you both suggested
