Hi, I have a Power App which is linked with SharePoint. I use the Edit Form and can submit the Form with all the required information. However, as I check, one column is missing in SharePoint, with the Required info missing in yellow. Can anyone help with that? Thank you!
Hi @Anonymous ,
Try removing that datacard from the form and then add it back. Usually this fixes such issues.
Hi @BCBuizer , thank you for your reply. But after I remove and added it back, the error still exists. Not sure what happened with my Power Apps. Do you have any other suggestions to ease that? Thank you so much in advance.
HI @Anonymous ,
Can you please share the column data type and the Update property of the datacard for the field that is not updating?
You mentioned an error; Do you have an error text?
Hi @BCBuizer , thank you for your help.
The column data type in SP is Choice but I referred to another list with Text. It appeared in the Power App as Radio Button.
The update property is changed to "RadioX.Selected" according to the list.
The error text in SP is "This item is missing required information."
Thank you so much for your help!
Could that be because I used text in the Choice column instead of Choice? But I tried Choice, it's not working properly and the Choice can have manual input value.
If you use a Choice type column, you need to send a record to update it. If the Items of the Radio control contain Text, that will not work. Moreover, if you want to allow users to be able to enter custom values, that will pose issues since it's very hard to patch an option set.
I would recommend changing the data type of the column to Text.
Hi @BCBuizer , thank you for your help. However, if I want to update the column in the Text property, seems like I cannot use the radio button or other types of choice. Can I edit a text form with choice/record? Thank you for your help!
In order for a Text type field to work with allowed values, such as a radio control, you have to select the relevant column in datacard's Update property, for instance: Radio.Selected.Value.
