Plugin - Get Row Case Sensitive

Hi all,

I’ve discovered a plugin I’ve created which gets row from an excel document appears to be case sensitive.

If the ID column has data in there like “Microsoft” for example, if a user triggers the plugin and their identifying phrase is “microsoft” then more often than not it won’t return anything. But it will if the user had used an upper case M.

The spellings are exactly the same, it just appears to be the case causing issues.

Is there a way around this short of duplicating all the data on excel with both upper and lower case?

This issue has been mentioned elsewhere with solutions if creating a power automate flow from scratch however this is utilising a Copilot plugin: https://community.powerplatform.com/forums/thread/details/?threadid=189d2af6-a527-43f2-9260-c11dbcdb1abf

Thanks

    Hi ,

When creating plugins, are you using Excel connector.? And is the ID column is behaving case sensitive?

Ideally you can describe the Inputs to LLM with a proper description so that system can understand to ignore the case sensitivity.

As workaround you can add a Helper Column in Excel, with the formula =LOWER(A2) (assuming your ID is in column A). Update your plugin to match the lowercase version of the identifying phrase in the helper column, instead of the original ID column.

    Thanks.

    Thank you for your reply.

Yes it is using the Excel connector and yes it is using the ID column.

On your suggestion, I appreciate that may help if the user does provide the phrase in lower case but would that still work though if someone then did provide the phrase with a capital letter?

    Thanks
