Getting the following error message on Power Platform Admin Center: Your organization (tenant) is over capacity. This will impact certain environment operations. Not sure what this means or what I should do, we do not run that many PowerApps. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

You need to add more storage space to the account.

This is usually done by adding more user licenses as they come with additional environment space.

I hope this is helpful for you.

Where do I go to add more storage space? If I do not do anything will this affect my PowerApps? Thanks!

This pertains to the Dataverse storage space.  If you are not using it, currently you can ignore it.

However there is a rumor that at some point, Microsoft will actually bill of overage - currently they do not.  I did see this in one of their FAQ's but can't for the life of me find it right now.

You can read more about the capacity that licenses bring to Dataverse at this FAQ page. (under the Dataverse heading).

How do I know if I am using Dataverse? We have a handful of PowerApps and a few flows with Power Automate.

You're most likely not using Dataverse then, but PowerAutomate flows that are automatic also consume some of the space.

There is a Dataverse "tab" in the screen that you showed in your original post.  You can click on that to see any Dataverse usage.

Also (not shown in your picture), if you look down below the image you provided, there is a graph of top storage by environment.  That will also show you some details on where space is being used.

I only have one environment. Should I have more than one? What would be the purpose of having multiple environments?

Here is what it shows under Dataverse

If you only have the default environment, then the Dataverse list will not give you much more detail than what you already had.

You would have other environments for production purposes.  For the default environment, everyone in the organization has maker permission.  So, for purposes of security (and other things), a production environment is usually wanted.  Apps and flows can be deployed in a production environment and others have access to use it.  But, they cannot make apps in it unless granted that permission.  Why is this significant? Because your app uses data connections.  If you have defined a data connection for your app in the default environment, then anyone in the org can make an app and use that data connection.  So, they might be able to bypass anything your app is doing to restrict data to the user in their app.  Again, if the app is in a different environment and the data connection as well, then others cannot make apps and bypass the permissions.

So where are you now...if you are not using the dataverse capabilities, then you most likely will not have any issues with the original post you made.  If you want to add an additional environment or utilize dataverse, then you will need to purchase add on storage or per user/app plans to bring up the amount to first correct the shortage and then to add a new environment.
