According to Microsoft documentation (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/controls/modern-controls/modern-control-text-input), there should be a ValidationState property on text inputs which can be set to indicate whether a field has an error in its value or not.

However, when working with a text input field in the app design view, there is no property called ValidationState available, in either properties list. In both below screenshots, I have selected the text input in question.

Can someone tell me where to find this ValidationState property for a text input please?

This will show up when you use Forms. As an Example, I have an input outside of a Form, its not there, I create a Form and add it and its there.

Since it has no way to set the criteria of what does "ValidationState" mean, unless its in a Form (where the back end says its required, not required, number, etc etc) ones outside of a form won't show it.

Below you can see it at the bottom, for the Account Number,on my form which is bound to Contacts, but the other doesn't have it, as there is no way to "set" the criteria for determining validity of the data state.

Hope that explains it for you I know the docs are... limited on that.

Now my input outside the form doesn't have it.
