Edit mode for form not displaying edit function

Hi Folks

I have an app that when the screen and form are in edit mode doesn't display certain fields for editing:

I did assume this is because the width of the data cards for the 'Resource n Capacity' are of a shorter width, but making them wider doesn't resolve the issue (and messes up the screen layout). I also have data cards on other 'tabs' that are shorter and work fine.

Is there any way to configure this?

Thanks

@SteveMForm - Edit Forms by are responsive by defaultThis means the layout of the DataCards and the controls inside the DataCards will dynamically scale to fit the user's screen.

In the properties menu for the form, I would suggest setting the Columns dropdown to 2.

    Hi @Amik thanks for replying.

That's gonna mess up the layout- I have 12 columns set to allow me to set the data cards at different widths

@SteveMForm - assuming the data cards are unlocked, select the control embedded inside the DataCard (from the Tree/Object View) and adjust the X property until the control is visible. If you want the Form to remain responsive, you will need to reconfigure Width and X properties of the controls.

Thanks @Amik - no joy- nothing I do to these data cards brings up the down arrow to change the value.

In fact, there may be some other underlying issue- I've just discovered that the Name data cards on the left whilst have got the down arrow to edit, I can't select to edit.

Only the Deputy Director card at the top allows me to edit.

On another tab I have data cards that are a lot narrower than the Capacity ones I'm struggling with and they are all fine.

Could it be some other properties on the form or screen are effecting the ability to edit these values?

Its the rectangle around the Names and Capacity.

When I remove it, all the fields are editable. But I want the rectangle!

If I send to the back, its not visible, I tried sending it backwards, but it still impedes the editing of the fields- any ideas?

@SteveMForm - sorry I am lost. What rectangle?

solved it- bit of a fudge but inserted 4 separate rectangles, formatted them into lines and it now doesn't interfere with the form. Seems to be a flaw in layering elements here

@SteveMForm - sounds like you've been doing some customisations you have not detailed in your posts.

Unless stated otherwise, community users will assume you're working off the default/out of the box Edit Form.

Glad you got whatever it was solved.

Hi @Amik sure- it didn't occur to me that it was interfering, but I did mention it when I found out it was....

I had a rectangle overlaying the form to provide a 'box' outline round the datacards. It obviously was hindering accessing the data value fields on edit, and sending it backwards in order didnt work.

I removed it and replaced with 4 rectangles 1 unit wide/ high to make the box shape, all worked.
