Is it possible to prevent the deletion of a solution that is not its own?

Hi,

I have a dev environment with few developer that have the security role "Environnment maker". Is it possible to prevent the deletion of a solution ?

Hi @ALP2,

Environment Maker shouldn't have the ability to create or delete solutions or other Dataverse components. They would need the System Customizer or System Administrator role to do so.

It's the behavior i would like to have but it's not like that for me.

I have created a solution with Diego in a DEV environnement. He has the Envionnement Maker role.

I switched to user Adele that has the same role. She can open the solution created by diego and she can ad new components to it but she can't view the components created by diego.

If i open the solution as an adminstrator, i can view the 2 components.

for this screenshot, i'm conneced as an admin and i can see for diego's solution, i have 2 applications, 1 made by adele and 1 made by diego

for this screenshot, i'm connected with adele that is in diego's solution. She can only see her application.

And morevover, she can delete the Diego's solution.

Is that a normal behavior ? And in this case, i just need to warn Dev users to be careful.

Do i need to custom the security role to prevent users from removing and adding components ?

@ALP2 i am facing similar issue, any user can delete others solutions,, is this normal? and can this be restricted, so no one can delete others solutions?

Same here - we cannot understand WHY Microsoft decided to allow everyone with an Environment Maker role to remove solutions created by other users? And there are no ways to block this without removing a role...

MICROSOFT! Why in the world! would you allow other makers to "DELETE" solutions not created or owned by them.

This needs addressed immediately and is a serious issue.

And you DO NOT have to be a system customizer or admin to do this. I've tested just like others have and those only with the Maker role can do this.

Just saw this post and will add that it is still an issue. Currently only compromise I found it to edit the environment maker role and remove the delete access on "Solution" table.
They won't be able to delete other makers' solutions, but also won't be able to delete their own.

Sucks, but it's the best you gonna get currently.
