Form inserted on screen don't appear when app is played

I inserted a form into one of my screens, and everything seems to look fine from the preview. But when I play the Canvas App, the form is not visible. In-place of the form, I get the message "No item to display". Mind you, I have saved my work and published the app.

The issue is that your Code in the Form, for the Item property is not getting a record.

So lets pretend you have a Gallery and when you select a gallery item, it shows up in the Form

If you put Gallery.Selected in the Item property of the form but no gallery item is selected, you would get this error.

So your issue is (Im not saying its a gallery issue) I am saying that the Code you have between Datasource for the form and Item, are not getting the value from wherever you its supposed too.

    So the error is expected.

Assuming that its a form as you said.
can you share what your Item property code is please and yes in design mode it would show the form in run mode (play) it will not.

If these suggestions help resolve your issue, Please consider Marking the answer as such and also maybe a like.
    Thank you!
    Sincerely, Michael Gernaey

So there are a couple of things I do want to bring up here.

    1. If you are creating a new record, then the items property is blank BUT you have to have the Form in New/Create Mode
    2. If you are Editing or Viewing, then you have to have the Form in View / Edit mode depending on what you are doing.

I see you have Vehicles as your Source, but you have to set the Item property depending on how you are loading.

    For Example.

If you have a Gallery of Vehicles, and the Form is on the same page, you can set the Item property to GalleryName.Selected , where you change the GalleryName to your Control name.

If the Form is on another Screen, then you will need to either use a Global Variable, and set that Equal to the GallerName.Selected value, or you need to Pass the GalleryName.Selected value in your Navigation to the screen with the Form.

Were you able to resolve this?

Hi @Community member, from your screenshot you just need to set the form’s DefaultMode to New instead of Edit so it always displays a blank record for submission. And as @Michael E. Gernaey pointed out, if you want to edit an existing record you must bind the form’s Item property (for example, to Gallery1.Selected) so it knows which record to load.
