Microsoft Entra ID connector to search for users
    Hi  ,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft Power Platform Community.

Yes, it is possible to retrieve groups and their members from Microsoft Entra ID and create a searching feature for employees using Power Apps.

You can achieve this using the Microsoft Entra ID connector in Power Apps.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you set this up:

    • Create a Power App: Start by creating a new Power App.
    • Add Microsoft Entra ID Connector: Add the Microsoft Entra ID connector to your Power App. You can do this by going to the Data tab, clicking on "Add data," and selecting the Microsoft Entra ID connector.
    • Create Combo Box for Groups:
    • Add a Combo Box control to your app.
    • Set the Items property of the Combo Box to MicrosoftEntraID.ListGroups(). This will populate the Combo Box with the list of groups from Microsoft Entra ID.
    • Create Search Box for Users:
    • Add a Text Input control to your app for the search box.
    • Add a Gallery control to display the members of the selected group.
    • Set the Items property of the Gallery to filter the members based on the selected group and the search text.

If you prefer to use Power Automate to retrieve the data and display it in Power Apps, you can create a flow that retrieves the groups and their members from Microsoft Entra ID and sends the data to Power Apps.

Here’s how you can do it:
Create a Flow in Power Automate:
    • Use the "List groups" action to retrieve the list of groups from Microsoft Entra ID.
    • Use the "List group members" action to retrieve the members of each group.
    • Send Data to Power Apps: Use the "Respond to PowerApps" action to send the retrieved data back to Power Apps.
    • Call the Flow from Power Apps: In your Power App, call the flow to retrieve the data and display it in the Combo Box and Gallery controls.
For more detailed guidance, you can refer to the Microsoft Entra ID connector documentation and the Power Automate documentation below.

If this fixes the issue, please mark as resolved to help others with find it.

    Happy to help

    Hi @Robu1

I've checked the "List groups" action on both Power Apps and Power Automate and they don't exist.
That action is also not included on the documentation you provided: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/azuread/.
