Hi All, I am an administrator to one Power Platform environment administrator. One user requested to give a permission to create Dataverse table for developing a Model driven app. I created a custom security role by copying Environment maker role and gave all permissions for Entity in Customizations tab of security role(refer screenshot-1), then assigned the new security role to the user requested. Now the user was able to create table but cannot create columns and create records. I again updated a security role by assigning all record level permissions for the custom table user has created(refer screenshot-2). Even after updating security role user is unable to create columns and create records.
Note:- The user has already Environment Maker and Basic User roles assigned.
When user is trying create column throwing this error "You are missing the necessary privilege to create columns in this environment." and also cannot create records, Add Record button in Data tab is disabled.
Please help what permissions needs to be added to security role so that user can create columns and records. I do not want System customizer role to be assigned to the user or any other with person with admin permission create new columns in new custom table.
I got nearly the same Problem and no solution for this.
New Security Role: Able to create Dataverse table ... - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com)
Was this ever solved?
I have system customizer role and I cannot add a new column to my Dataverse table.
Hi @venkatesh1,
The System Customizer role will have all the necessary privileges for a user to create tables, columns, etc. Try assigning the user that role.
