Hi, Everyone!

I am very new guys for the Copilot. I just want to know how to use the "Send event" or "Send activity " .

I read this document, but i do not understand how to test it..

Sending event activities - Microsoft Copilot Studio | Microsoft Learn

I create two topic to test.

(1)Phase trigger ---> some other nodes --->send an Event

(2)Events Received trigger ---> send a message (simple)

FIrst , i enter the (1)'s phases to go to the (1) Topic, in my understand, it will send an Event and go into (2) Topic.

But it just end in (1) Topic...

Did i missing something? If anyone can give a detailed sample how to realize it ?

Thanks in advanced!

Hi @Nick98765 , let's start by asking what do you intend to use events for?

    Hi, @adilei

Thanks for your reply for this case.

To be honest, I think I want to send an event, and then let the Trigger of another Topic receive this event and trigger the second Topic.

I just want to know what "send event" or "send activity" and trigger can achieve. I read the document, but I still can't understand it. Forgive me for being so stupid.

Can you give me some sample how to test this feature?

Triggering other topics is typically done by redirecting: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-copilot-studio/guidance/triggering-topics#redirecting-to-a-topic.

Sending out events and activities is to communicate with the client or channel that is consuming the copilot studio API, to let the client know it has to act in a certain way.

Most of this is already handled behind the scenes. For example, when the OOTB sign-in topic is triggered, it is sending an activity to the client application, letting it know it needs to sign the user in. Unless you are building a highly customized solution, you would not have to explicitly send out events or activities.
