Hi Community,I am working on the Help Desk Template in an attempt to alter it for my organization. While I have gotten 95% of it to work I seem to be running into an issue for updating tickets. Whilst most fields update without any issue it seems that both the ticket status field and percentage completed reset in full once I press the "update" button. As a result - no update is forwarded to SharePoint and the ticket remains in a "NOT STARTED" mode. I do not seem to have any syntax errors in the code and all of the fields seem to be properly updated. The update button itself also seems to work as various fields are updated accordingly..Hope you can help!Regards,Rick
Hey! Can you tell me the code and can you tell me if you use a form or other thing?
Hey,I have attached some printscreens to show what I am currently running into. Basically it an PowerApp connected to a SharePoint listing in which tickets can be created and updated. The value of Status starts at "NOT STARTED" and should change once the admin alters it and presses update within the app. There are multiple aspects that are setup in exactly the same way and that do get updated (e.g. prioritization). However, somehow this field resets itself every time I press update and thus refuses to update..Thanks for the help!
Okay. So, if I understood right:
You have a gallery with tickets, then you choose and you wan tto update the formOkay. InUpdate will do nothing.You should have a button and when you press it, use This:
SubmitForm(Form1);
Then, On sucess of the form, say something like: Notify("Updated")On failure, write: Notify("Review Form")
Hey,I do have a button that calls the SubmitForm which partially works as the fields: Description, Category & Priority are all updated without any issue. The problem seems to be that somehow the Status Field Update does not come true or resets itself before the submitform is issued. I know the SharePoint list is connected to this field as I am able to select the various options that I have designed in the list so PowerApp not recognizing the field should not be any issue I guess...
I managed to solve it..... Turns out one of the datafield names (very beginning of the entry fields...) did not carry the correct name... Whilst the initial input was recognized the data could not be updated back...
If you created the field manually it wotn recognize. My sugestion is to have that field and "original field" and set the default to the field you selected
