PowerApp with CDS - Slow/Poor Performance

Hi All,

I've got a PowerApp that connects to a CDS instance.  There are around 2500 Account entities.  These are split into Areas.  When the user logs in I use an IF to determine what data populates a Gallery filtered on the Area.

The users can then click through the gallery to bring up and edit information on each of the accounts.

There are around 11 screens in total for users to do various things, update the account or update entities related to the account.  Effectively it doesn't seem like it's doing *that* much, but the performance is making it pretty unusable.

I feel like I've followed the guidelines with regards to performance but just navigating between screens and submitting data is terrible.

If anyone has any suggestions of things I could try that would be wonderful.

Thanks...

John

    Hi @BigJohn ,

Do you want to improve your powerapps performance?
Well, many things may effect your powerapps performance.

Here are some docs about it for your reference, may tips are helpful:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/performance-tips

    https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/performance-considerations-with-powerapps/

    https://baizini-it.com/blog/index.php/2017/09/13/powerapps-improving-app-performance/

In PowerApps, there's a very helpful tool that you could use, which could give you some advice about improving performance.

    That is: PowerApps Checker

You could refer this to see how to install it:

    https://www.arbelatech.com/insights/blog/how-to-increase-performance-and-reliability-with-powerapps-checker.html

Once the Solution checker is complete, select View results to see results listed within PowerApps or Download results to view an Excel report of issues identified, severity, locations, and guidance to resolve

Within the downloaded ZIP file, there is an Excel Worksheet which includes two tabs:
    a. Summary: Summary of issues by category, severity, and location
    b. Results: Detailed list of all issues found

You could improve your CDS based on the report.😁

    Best regards,
