PowerApps can't connect to Microsoft SQL Server

I followed the instructions on https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/tutorials/connection-azure-sqldatabase/.

But I can't add that connection.

The SQL server name, database name, Username and Password are all correct.

I can connect to the database using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.

I get this error.

Microsoft SQL: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The wait operation timed out.)

    Hi @TravisChen,

    Check below:

    1. Please make sure your database engine is configured to accept remote connections.
    2. Please make sure that you create an exception on the firewall for the SQL Server instance and port you are using.
    3. Please check if your SQL server services is up and running properly.
    4. Please make sure that you enable TCP/IP in SQL Server Configuration

I dont know about the Power App but i can help on SQL Server Error to make a troubleshoot. This is an old post but maybe can help other mambers in future.

The "SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26" appear mostly while trying to connect to a SQL Server named instance and not when you use default instance. The client stack could not receive SSRP response UDP packet from SQL Browser.

    Some easy steps to troubleshoot:

    1. Recheck the server name for any error and fix it
    2. Check the instance name for any error
    3. Check if SQL Server browser is running
    4. Control if this instance exist on server
    5. Ping the server and check if DNS can be resolved correctly

Also if you need step by step explain about above checks you can check the following article: https://www.get-itsolutions.com/sql-server-error-26-sql-error-40-fix/

    Thnx
