Heelo All,
I have a person column in SharePoint. If the person creating an item does not know who to assign the item to they check a box labeled "I do not know who to assign this item to". I would like the item to automatically be assigned to "User A". How could I do this? I Patch the assigned user into the column from a combo box when they know the user to assign too. Is there a way for me to set the default selected items using an IF THEN statement?
Hi @apaulso9 ,
Since you mentino you are using Patch to set the value when the user does know who to assign the item to. Why not use the same function in the OnCheck property of the checkbox to indicate they don't know who to assign the item to?
@BCBuizer I would like to but I am unsure how to code a patch for a specific user. I am patching a person selected from a combo box so all of the needed data is available using the combo box. How do I tell it to patch into a person column with a users username and email?
There's a good example here:
