add new row to editable grid in model-driven app

I've added an editable grid control to one of my views. It appears that the only way to add a new line to the grid is to click the New button and go to the "single record" view.

Is there a way to add a new record to the grid in situ-- similar to how Excel adds rows to a table?

Hello @JenniferK

As per OOB Editable Grid Behavior, you can only Edit the View for UPDATE Operation, there is no way to create a record.

If you want to create a record you need to create a record in Create/Quick Create form Only

You can try to use Editable Table Custom PCF control. It's adding a new row when you click on a + button.
