Add New Row to Dataverse via Flow - Created By

Hi,

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, I've searched high and low!

On one of our power apps we have a button that is used to trigger a flow that creates a new row in a table & for reasons relating to changeset requests it needs to be in the flow. However when we do it this way, 'Created By' on the new row in the table is always the maker of the flow rather than the user clicking the button.

For example, I have made the flow to add the row & when Adam adds a row via the button, it shows my name under 'Created By'. We need it to show the users name (Adam), is there a setting I am missing here?

Hi @Lewis98,

You need to set the Run Only Users option in the flow settings page so that the connection used is set to "provided by run only user".

Hi @ChrisPiasecki ,

On the link it mentions: "
For triggers that support run-only users, below the Owners card, a Manage run-only users card appears. On the card, select See all."

The option to add run-only users doesn't appear for me on the flow settings page so I assume this isn't compatible with a PowerApps trigger

Make sure you're using the PowerApps V2 trigger.

Hi @ChrisPiasecki.,

I see the run only users now however when I change the below setting and save, it changes back to 'Use this connection...' - is there something causing this to change?
