CDS Database Capacity Pricing

Hi,

We want to leverage Powerapps Portals and CDS to create a customer portal and store business data. We therefore created a production environment with a database. At the same time, we have a default environment without database. However, Powerapps Administration Center reports a total database consumption of about 2 GB, 1 GB for each environment. We have not populated the database with any actual data.

Recently the environment was deactivated due to excedence of database storage limits. We cannot delete the default environment. Does this mean that we would have to purchase 2 x 1 GB add-ons in order to start using our production environment, before the database has been populated with any actual data?

Yes, we believe that each environment consumes 1 GB even if no data is populated. If any are unused, you can delete those environments to try and reclaim the space.

Each tenant gets 10GB by default, we believe.
Moreover, there is some extra that is given per license, these details can be found in the licensing guide for January 2020 (attached).

You are probably right that you may need to buy either the specific database storage space addon, or buy more licenses to get the extra space that comes with each license.
