Unable to edit dataflows imported via solution

Hi all

We used to import the data flows from dev to next environments using Solutions. However in those environments if we have to edit them (connections etc), we used to navigate to Dataflows section under dataverse as editing functionality not available in the solution for dataflows. This may not be the best experience but it worked for us. Surprisingly now we are unable to do this, we are stuck with dataflows that are available in solution but not editable and at the same time they are not even visible under the main dataverse section.

Does any one hit this issue before ? what are the alternates we have?

Thank you

-Srikanth

    Hi @ansrikanth

Can you please check whether the solution which you have imported in Unmanaged, if you imported as Managed then you cannot edit the same.

Hi, have tried with both managed and unmanaged. It's strange, I'm sure I have done this before.

    Thank you

    Hei,

I am facing the same issue. Solution with dataflows is moved from one env to another (as managed) and no visibility of dataflows under Dataverse section.....

Let's share experience when a solution to solve it will be found.

    Best regards,

    Alexandra

@ansrikanth , have you moved solution manually (export/import) or via ALM ?

If via ALM, you won't be an owner of the flows so they will be available only inside solution.

    Regards,

    Alexandra

    here is the workaround.

if "enhanced data model is enabled in your environment, then we will NOT see Dataflow in dataflow section.

    Follow this steps:

    1. Disable enhanced data model in DEV.
    2. Disable enhanced data model in PROD.
    3. Create blank site in PROD (Now check does all D365 Packages got installed)
    4. Export Solution from DEV
    5. Import solution in PROD Now we can see all the dataflows contained in our solution package in Dataflow section.
    6. Enable Enhanced data model in DEV and PROD (as needed)
