I am attempting to import a Power App and its connected SharePoint lists into a new environment. I thought it would be as simple as importing both the app and lists, and then simply reconnecting them once both in the environment.
However, when importing SharePoint excel exports into the environment, the "internal" names of the columns are changed to "fields", so when attempting to reconnect them with the app, it doesn't work because the Power App is still looking for those original column names.
Is the easiest course of action simply manually recreating the lists in the new environment and connecting it them the power app so that the "internal" names match all the uses in the app?
Yes, but this isn't a Power Apps Issue, it's a SharePoint import problem. Unfortunately, the only way to save the names, would be to Sync the other SharePoint Server, with, let's say your Dev one, or you have to use the SharePoint export list feature (not to excel like you did), or build your own import.
That's unfortunately why this happened.
If you have the SharePoint all on the same network and reachable, then you have to go into the SharePoint you want to and say Import List,
Then select from existing, then Select the Environment that has the SharePoint List you want. Then Import that. Then it will keep the names you need.
