I think the activity table concept may be what I need to track progress of individual plans over time (1 row =1 plan) but I have a few questions

Is there a general updates/notes activity to allows me to add a basic historic record?
1. The task table says its for representing work needed to be done, but I'm more concerned about capturing that happened like "Met with client on site. Agreed to move forward with next stage while awaiting for invoices to be issued"
Are there ways to quickly associate activities that may have been emails, meetings, recurring appointments created outside of dataverse as an activity so that users don't need to copy/paste details from other platforms?
Can I rename the existing activity table e.g Appointment becomes site visit or task becomes update
Is it possible for me to configure security so that only certain users can see the activity stream for plans they have a relationship with or if you have any access to the plans table that there is no way of stopping you seeing all the activities

p.s. the timeline control is one of the reasons why I think the activity tables is what I need

Hi,

1. Notes etc are at a entity/table level, not a standard notes "stand alone" table. But you could create one easy enough

1a - as for Task, you can customize it if you like and sure use it how you said. Its just a template

2. You would need to create a Canvas App, Model Driven App or Pages App and embed that in the other app. THAT or you would have to call the Dataverse API's from that other app or some intermediate that reads the other apps data to push it to the Tables if you dont want to embed anything. But yes you can

3. Yes. The schema names do not change, just the ... visual labels

4. The answer is, yes you can configure security down to a row or a table. So just because they can see "plans table" doesn't mean they can see all the records. You can even block fields

As for creating new activities that is easy too so I am confident you can do all you want.
