Copilot responding twice to a single prompt

I have created a Topic in Copilot studio that calls a Flow to retrieve Sales Order data. It produces an Adaptive Card to display the output data from my Flow.

This is all working fine, but as soon as the adaptive card is posted in the chat window the Copilot responds to the user yet again. What's particularly odd is that the second response comes through as a generated response, rather than the Adaptive Card. I did previously have "Respond to user after action" set to "AI dynamically creates a response" but that has since been unchecked. I've also unchecked "allow copilot to run this action."

Here are some screenshots of what's occurring:

I've also turned off Conversational boosting to confirm that it wasn't responsible for the second response.

Any ideas as to what's going on would be greatly appreciated!

This duplicate message issue ended up resolving itself over the weekend. I suspect there was some form of caching going on which was simultaneously calling for the adaptive card and generated text responses.

    Hi,

It’s still happening. Saw multiple examples today.

    Thanks.

    Here are some suggestions,

    1. Ensure that the action in the Topic is configured to only post the Adaptive Card without triggering any automatic responses from Copilot afterward. You mentioned unchecking the "Respond to user after action" box, which is a good step. Double-check if it's applied correctly.
    2. Since the Flow is responsible for retrieving and displaying Sales Order data via an Adaptive Card, ensure that it's not sending any unintentional responses after the card is posted.
    3. Go to the action node in your Topic and make sure that no additional response is set after the card is posted. Sometimes, an additional message could be triggered due to multiple action steps. Ensure that there’s no conditional branch or fallback action sending an additional message.
    4. Ensure any unused actions or nodes are disabled or removed from your topic to avoid conflicts.

    Thanks.

Hey! You can fix this by turning off Gen AI responses after the "Order Details" topic has executed using the "When an AI response is generated" topic. I wrote a guide on it here https://medium.com/@ethanwintill/how-to-stop-repeat-responses-in-copilot-studio-56977af44837
