Basic Browse & Edit of Sharepoint List Canvas app tutorial.

Anybody know of a good tutorial to do this manually from scratch?

I do not want to use the build-in 3-screen setup.

I am struggling to get my head around how the systems does it when you auto-generate the 3-screen app.
