A multiselect control in Model Driven Apps where a User can select what records they want to include in a new instance of an entity

Hi

I have a Model Driven Apps where there is a requirement to select a set of items which can be used to create a new instance of an entity.

Does such a control exist ?

For example I have a standard set of Room checks to be performed on a weekly basis.  When I set up a new room not all of the room checks may be applicable to the new room so I only want to select those room checks that are applicable to the new room

Is this possible ?

Thanks

Nigel

Yes, the Choices control in Model Driven apps allows a user to select one or more options from the control.

    Thanks @cchannon

Where is this control documented ?  I can, from the link you supplied, see how to use it using code. Is there documentation on how to use the control itself without using code ?

    Thanks

This MS Learn training module goes into detail on both Choice and Choices column types: Working with choices in Microsoft Dataverse - Training | Microsoft Learn

    Hi @cchannon

Ah ! I see this is the choice column.

I was looking for something more dynamic so I was expecting a table rather than a fixed set of choices.

The issue I see with the choices column is what happens if the number of Room Checks increases ? Can I add to a choices field without reverting back to the Model Driven Apps developer ?

Hence I was expecting a list (or table) of Room Checks which the user could select from.

    Regards

    Nigel

Sure, I have my own custom PCF I have built to do just this. It replaces an OOB N:N relationship grid with a Picker experience that makes it feel much simpler and easier to most users. full code and importable solution here: cchannon/MultiSelectLookup (github.com)

More updates to the UI and support for "manual" N:N relationships coming soon-ish...
