Can I use power apps for a dynamic IT request portal?

Hi,

I'm new to Power Apps and would like to get some pointers from more experienced folk please about whether I'm choosing the right tool set and some tips on how to proceed.

The app I need to build is an IT request portal for people to raise requests to be added to permissions in applications.

The key thing is the form needs to be VERY dynamic.

Selection of a value in one field needs to drive the content, presence or "manadatoryness" of other fields.

Depending on the application, there will be completely different fields, some drop-downs, combo boxes, free text etc.

I need to describe what each form looks like and the dependencies between the fields (I've developed that data model) but I've no idea how to dynamically build the form for an app based on that data.

Where do I start please? is Power Apps custom page going to work for this?

On an aside - is there a library of custom controls please - ideally I need a multi-select drop-down that looks like the attachments. Or tips on how to write this? It behaves the same as the Categories box when posting here.

Hi oaustin,

You definitely can create a dynamic IT request portal and I would suggest you start off with a wireframe of your app. Second, define key requirements and features and thirdly, look for specific tutorials online to achieve the desired solution one screen at a time.
