Creating an interactive dashboard.

Greetings, I am trying to take the data that I will be inputting throughout the year and turn it into an interactive dashboard that will make it easier to read. I have inserted a screenshot below of what the data tab looks like, and it pulls its data from the month tabs. I am looking to see if it is possible to create a dashboard using the data screen I have or do I need to change it.

I would like the dashboard to have the following options: 1.) Show the totals overall in a chart. 2.) Have the option to show the totals by month if I click on the month. 3.) Have the option to click on each equipment number and show the overall data for that specific piece equipment as well as each month.

This will be first time I have attempted to create a dashboard and everything I see on online does not help with the data tab I am using. Any help will be appreciated. I can provide more screenshots if requested.

I have the same question (0)

It is duable. Maybe prepare screen to see how it should look like in PA. You could use figma . It is great tool to create mockups. Second thing is datamodel. For this fine is https://dbdiagram.io/ .

Yes, you can create a dashboard based on your "Data" tab—no need to restructure everything.
Here’s a straightforward way to do it in Excel:
    1. Normalize your data using Power Query:
      1. Select the monthly columns (Green Sheet, In Use W/o Form, Hours Filled across Jan–Dec)
      2. Unpivot them to get a table with columns like: Unit ID | Equip No | Month | Metric | Value
    2. Create a Pivot Table from that normalized data:
      1. Rows: Unit ID or Equipment No.
      2. Columns: Month or Metric
      3. Values: Sum of Values
    3. Add Slicers for Month and Equipment No to make it interactive.
    4. Insert Pivot Charts based on what you want to display (totals, by month, by equipment).
    5. Arrange everything nicely on a separate “Dashboard” sheet.
    This will let you:
    1. See overall totals
    2. Click on a month to filter
    3. Click on equipment to drill down
Let me know if you want help with the Power Query steps.
