Power Bi integration with Power App

Hey everyone,

I tried to import a PBI tile in my power app but whenever I edit/add new record in the data, it's only reflecting in the power app but not in the PBI tile.
I have used onedrive file to create both PBI tile and power app(Does it have anything to do with default hourly basis refreshing of onedrive in power BI).

Please help me fix it.

Thank you so much.

    Hi @Anonymous,

I think Power BI Data refresh should be the issue.

By default, Power BI refresh the package files stored under OneDrive hourly:

    "

For files loaded from OneDrive, automatic refresh occurs about every hour for data that does not come from an external data source.

    "

For tile refresh, it happens about every fifteen minutes. Tile refresh updates the cache for tile visuals, on the dashboard, once data changes.

    For more information, check:

    Data refresh in Power BI

For PowerApps, it updates the data in real time.

    Regards,

    Michael

Thanks @v-micsh-msft, So What I understand from your reply is that, the least time that power bi takes to get refreshed automatically is One hour for the data from One Drive. I would like to know is there any workaround so as to reduce the time or to make it real time perhaps.

    Thanks again.

I'd also like to know. My current project is to show real time data affect through the Bi tile on PowerApp. I tried the refresh and it was exactly like the previous post indicatedl; other than refresh it manually through the Bi website, we have to wait for OneDrive to refresh itself (1 hour interval).

PowerApp/PowerBi Dev, if you are looking at this, maybe this can be another feature that the designer can tweak later on, so we can decide our refresh rate for the Bi tile in App.

    Hi @Anonymous and @Anonymous,

I am afraid there is no workaround to have the refresh under Power BI in real time.

The refresh time is defined under Power BI side, from PowerApps there is not so much thing that could be done to modify the related settings.

You may consider submit this as an idea under the Power BI idea forum, to suggest having the refresh open a self-defined interval.

    Hi Michael,

I was playing around the workaround, even though I haven't confirm the idea but I was thinking using flow to trigger faster refresh rate. Do you know if this can work? Everytime I submit an entry from the PowerApp, I will run the flow to update OneDrive. Or another idea I've found that still needs testing as well is to have PowerApp store the information in PowerBI. I saw one of the action in flow is to add an entry in PowerBI.

Thank you for the response anyway, I'll make sure to submit this idea in the forum you provided.

    Mike
