This is an information post if you are finding "Event Expander Operation" system jobs that are waiting for resources.
On any given day our production environment will have thousands of these sitting around. Currently Microsoft support has not been able to provide any information or resolution to reduce them. Keep reading below as we have identified one source that is creating these system jobs.
This may be what your system job looks like.
When you drill into this record there is no information.
And if click on the "here" link in the above screen or the "Details" tab, you get a similar error as below.
We were able to identify one source that is creating these system jobs.
When a Dynamics record URL is shared in a Microsoft Teams Message, a System Job is created under the user that shares the message. As an example below this is sharing a URL of a record in our Unit of Measure table.
As a result the following system job record was created.
We have been able to delete these jobs without consequence, and if they are left un-attended they will continue to grow and build.
We are looking at setting up regular bulk delete jobs to clear these specific events out on a regular basis.
Hope this helps somebody out.
