Help with "Time without Date" Control Not Working

Hi all,

I'm creating an app that depends on multiple time fields where the date is irrelevant.

I found out a solution by creating regular "Date and Time" fields and adding the control "Time without Date" from the field property.

This looks great as it hides the Date portion of the field and only shows the Time portion but, unfortunately, this is not working correctly:

1. If I select a predefined time from the dropdown, it's not responding and the field is not populated with the selected value.

2. If I manually type the time, it works but when I save the record, the field gets emptied out.

Any ideas why this is not working and how to fix it?

Thank you,

Erick

    Hi @ErickDiaz

Are you able to share some screenshots? Is this a model driven app or canvas?

    Hello @HSheild,

    It's a model driven app.

This is the "Time without Date" control I'm using on a "Date and Time" defined field.

This is my form where I have the "Time without Date" field. When I click on any of the predefined times, it doesn't do anything (I don't see any errors on my Chrome Developer Tool Console). I can enter a time manually but when I save the record, it clears the value right before saving.

Please let me know if you need additional information.

    Thank you,

I just want to bump this thread and see if anyone has any ideas? I haven't figure out how to solve this, and it honestly looks like a bug.

    Thank you,

I did find something new. If I have an existing record with a date and time on it, when I switch the control back to "Time without Date", I can correctly update the time field.

However, for new records, the time-only field does not respond or will clear any value I manually entered when I save the record.

We are also having same issue. Did anyone find any resolution for this?

We are also wanting to use this control but seeing the same issue.  Has anyone been able to resolve and get this control to work?

@ErickDiaz  If you still have an issue, you can try to use this custom pcf control.

    https://marketplace.bevercrm.com/pcf-controls/TimePicker

It has the same UI as standard Dynamics 365 CE fields.

    Hope that helps.

    Hey Guys!

We've had the same issue with the Time without date control and found a workaround without using a 3rd party PCF Control.

As it's a time ONLY picker, we're assuming we're not intrested in the Date itself. Therefore we've created a busines rule that gives the field a default value.

The drawback is that you can't show the field in a view, as it would show the "hardcoded" date.

    Hope it helps!

    Kind regards

    Sven V.
