Hi Team,

I aim to provide real-time feedback to users on the Power Pages after they upload a file. My plan is to utilize Power Automate for file validation, acknowledging that Power Automate operates asynchronously. How can I ensure timely feedback to portal users after submission?

Are there any alternative solutions commonly used in Power Pages for achieving real-time responses to portal users after an action?

You could try the Power Pages Flow https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-pages/configure/cloud-flow-integration

Alternatively you could use the portals support of oauth implicit grant flow https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-pages/security/oauth-implicit-grant-flow

But if you are going to be validating a file upload, I would generally not do it in real time. One of the issues with realtime is that you do not know how long your validating etc will actually take to process, and the Browser has an inbuilt timeout so you cant keep the session open more than a couple of minutes without the browser stopping listening for the results to return.

In the past we have created and "Upload" table with a child table for "Processing Results", then written any errors etc to the Processing Results, when complete sent an email to the user who uploaded indicating success/failure and a link to the "Upload" record (so they can see the results/errors in a subgrid on the Upload record)
