Embedded Canvas app within Model Driven App shows in portrait

Hi!

I created an embedded canvas app within a model driven app. Changed the layout to portrait in the settings of the canvas app. However, in the embedded 'modus' (within the model driven app) it is always shown in portrait (where the canvas app is situated in the middle of a black portrait box).

Does anyone have a suggestion how to fix this?

Thanks a lot!

Regards,

Elowy.

    Hi @GrootCRM,

I am not sure I understand the issue. Are you saying the Canvas app is not filling the area of the form control? Have you tried setting a custom width/height of the canvas app? More information on how to do this below.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/model-driven-apps/embedded-canvas-app-customize-screen

A screenshot would be helpful to see the issue visually.

    Hi Cpiasecki,

Thanks for your reply. Here is a screenshot of the model driven app, with an embedded canvas app on one of the tabs:

The canvas app starts halfway in a large grey portrait block.

Unfortunately I have no options for setting a custom image size:

Although, I'm able to deselect "Scale to fit". Now the app shows in landscape in the model driven app.

However, that doesn't meet te requirements, so I'm still looking for a landscape solution with Scale to fit set to Yes.

    Thanks again,

    Elowy.

The default DocumentAppType seemed to be the problem. Somehow this was set to DesktopOrTablet so I was not able to change the layout settings well. The only way to change this setting was:

    - Export the app

    - Rename the export file to .msapp to .zip

    - Change in the Properties.json (part of the zip) the option DocumentAppType to Web instead of DesktopOrTablet

    - Import the changed msapp file
