PowerBINotAuthorizedException from Power App not using Power BI

I have a Power App that I am trying to share with users, but when anyone besides me tries to access it, they get the below error:

Trouble is, no part of my app or the connectors it uses have any references to Power BI. Here are the connectors my app does use:

  • SQL Server via on-prem data gateway
  • Custom connector leveraging on-prem data gateway
  • Office 365 connectors

Any advice on fixing this exception?

Regards,

Jared Leonard

Please try checking if the account accessing the app has permission to access SQL database and the necessary records.

Also, check if there is a connector in the app's environment that can connect to the data source and the necessary records.

    Cheers!

Oh I thought the account and password specified in the connection object was used in lieu of the end user's access, does the end user need to be authorized too? If so is there a way to change that so that the end user is accessing the connection on behalf of a static service account?

You can share your connection to the required user and ask them to select that one when accessing the app.

    https://make.powerapps.com/connections

Click on the 3 dots next to the connector and share it to the person. You can also manage the level of access from there.
