I've developed a demo database for a client which uses Dataverse tables. When it is supplied to the client, they can't use it because they don't have permission to access my Dataverse resources.
I ask the Access Dev Team how I could grant them access, share out the tables, ... and they informed me they didn't know and this was a Dataverse issue. So I am here to ask you all, what is the necessary approach to be able to grant people outside of my organization access to specific tables?
Can certain tables be made unrestricted for a period of time?
Do they need Microsoft Accounts?
Note: I am very new to all of this and getting lost in all the menus, so please try to be explicit in your instructions. Treat me like a kindergartner!
Thank you for any insights you can provide.
I was never able to get anywhere. I opened a Support Ticket and 2-3 weeks later still never even got a reply on the matter.
It is sad how complicated this has been made to be and for something that is a common need.
That said, I've moved on to using another RDMS for the project, one which I can control, and ditched Microsoft DataVerse.
I do my best to figure each of these steps out, but I do see one issue, when I go to the Apps page, nothing is listed. So the Access/Dataverse database/tables are not listed?!
Hi @DanielPineault ,
Please try the steps
1\Add the person to your tenant as the guest
2\ Make sure he has enough license
3\ Share the security role to the guest user
4\ Share the app
