I am using the built in Screen Selection "List".  My data source is an excel table.

SortByColumns(Search(Extract, TextSearchBox3.Text, "Order_x0020_Number"), "Order_x0020_Number", If(SortDescending1, SortOrder.Descending, SortOrder.Ascending))

However nothing is being returned.  My screen is blank.  Not entirely sure where I am going wrong.

Thank you

    Hi @Anonymous

What is this formula being used on? What property of what control? What is your intention?

    Right now the formula reads:

Take a table called "Extracts" and search for records where the text from TextSearchBox3.Text is found in the column "Order_x0020_Number". Using this filter, sort on the "Order_x0020_Number" - and at this point I don't understand what you are trying to do. What is Sortdescending1? What is the If here supposed to do?

This formula is being used on a gallery.

In my App I added a New Screen.  I selected the 'List' Screen from the available selections.  There was a pre-populated formula for an example.  I replaced the source and the field in which the search would be conducted.  The sort descending part was in there and I didn't touch it.

I'm trying to have an Order Number typed into TextSearchBox3 and have the gallery filter to show only that Order.

Did you change the values in the text boxes within the gallery? They should be called something like Title2 and Subtitle2 in the tree on the left. Make sure to change their text to ThisItem. and then whatever column you want to display.

Yep.  But I still get nothing

I changed them to ThisItem.Order Number and ThisItem.Order Date.

    Hmm...

Do you have anything set for defaults? On the gallery it should be nothing, but the default on your search box should be ""

So when you first select the 'List Screen' you can see sample data populated, the Lorem ipsum text.  However when I change the source I am not seeing anything. I am assuming this is where my issue is stemming from.  Not the formula itself.

If I create a new screen and do the gallery myself and set items = to my Extract table it says 'We didn't find any data".

Oh, okay this is an issue with your table then. I have been trying to recreate it but I'm unable to. So it is able to pick up the table from the excel file, and read the columns, but doesn't display any records?

Is it connected directly to the excel file, or is it connecting through something like Onedrive or sharepoint?

    @Anonymous

Is the spreadsheet open anywhere? Like in OneDrive or Excel? I know sometimes excel locks things down for other programs if you have it open somewhere.

Its OneDrive.  I have everything closed.  But I did connect when it was open.  I will try and reconnect.
