PowerApps for Teams & Dataverse for Teams licensing

Hi,

I've been experimenting with PowerApps for Teams and Dataverse for Teams in preparation for a customer project.

As I understand the MS blurb, user licencing for PowerApps for Teams and Dataverse for Teams is covered under the Office365 user licence.

However, if a potential user tries to access the app in their browser (via link) they get the message "This app uses features that come with a Power Apps premium plan. Start a trial to use these features".

My understanding is that Dataverse for Teams is not a premium connector so why would a user be prompted to start a trial?

Any ideas on how to fix this?

@Gary_Eden Dataverse for Teams is designed by MS to let people create Apps and run Apps from within Teams. Each Team has a Dataverse Environment. So, it is free when used in the context of a Team from within Teams. But when run as a standalone App (not in the context of a Team), it follows the licensing requirement of normal Apps, which require a separate license. There is no workaround or fix for this, you'll need to buy the required licenses.

That was the conclusion I was coming to but I couldn't actually find it stated anywhere.

If the Team user is a Team Guest without a 365 License, will they be able to Access/Use the APP within the Team Enviroment?

Hi

If I have a PowerApp within Teams which uses a SharePoint Connector to get / put data, Someone who is a member of that Team still needs a PowerApps licence (via an En Office licence) to use that PowerApp?

Is this what you are saying ?

SharePoint is a standard connector so should fall within the Office365 licence both within Teams and if building a PowerApp in a standard environment see standard connectors

In a standard PowerApps environment Dataverse is classed as using a premium connector and therefore you will need a per app or per user plan to use the app (other premium connectors are listed here). However, if you build the PowerApp natively in Teams (PowerApps for Teams NOT a link to a standard PowerApp) you are able to use a 'light' version of Dataverse which is licenced within Office365 PROVIDED it is only accessed from within Teams. As @CNT above notes, if the user wants to open the PowerApp for Teams with a web browser they will need one of the standard PowerApp licences.
