Currency Format not working

Hello,

I'm trying to get the selected data card to show the data in some sort of number form e.g. 123,456,789. I've put the code I believe would change the figures, but nothing seems to be happening.

Does anyone have any idea of what I can do?

The formula you are using changes the value into a formatted Text string.  But the field itself is set for Number.  So although you are transforming it to a formatted text the field is then transforming it back to a number.  I think your Text() formula is right, but it needs to be in a Text field, not a Number field.

    Hi @southafrican

You're trying to use a Text value inside a number-formatted field, so it will revert whatever text changes you do to display it as a number again with the default number formatting

If you have decimals within that number, it will show decimals, but the default formatting is to hide decimals when there are none rather than to display .00 as you would probably expect:

    Cheers,

So I changed the format as you suggested and it doesn't seem to have done anything?

Since you are using a Card you are binding it to a field. But your formula is for the Default property. So I think the default is being set correctly and then overridden by the bound value.

    Hi @southafrican ,

Based on the formula you provided, I think there is something wrong with it. The second argument of the Text function is required to type a CustomFormat formula, but you typed a Currency.

Please consider modify your formula as below:

Set the Default property of the Budget (F19/20) Text Input box to following:

    Text(displayItem.'Last Approved PLF Value (FY19/20)', "[$-en-US] ##,###")

    or

    Text(Value(displayItem.'Last Approved PLF Value (FY19/20)'), "[$-en-US] ##,###")

Please consider take a try with above solution, then check if the issue is solved.

    Best regards,

Thank you, the change in the formula you provided worked.
