Hello Power People!
I am facing an issue with regards to combo box in a canvas Power App. The combo box is not able to search records beyond 500 records. I have set the data row limit to 2000, so i assume this limit is on the combo box, is there any work around for such a scenario. The combo box is used to search for employees in order to assign a role.
Hi @abhishekgawde ,
Can you please share the Items property of the combo-box? What data source are you using?
Hi @BCBuizer
I am using Dataverse as the source.
Filter(Users, 'Users (Views)'.'Enabled Users')The IsSearchable property is set to true
I also tested with the following formula
ForAll(Sequence(2100),Value);The displayed records and searchable records are both limited to 500
Are you sure you are using a combo box? I just tested with Sequence(5000) and could see them all:
Dropdown controls on the other hand do have a documented limit for 500 items: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/controls/control-drop-down#description
hello @BCBuizer
thank you for looking into it.
Yes, I am using combo box. tried with both the modern control and the classic one. Strangely, the drop down control is now missing in the studio for me. I also tried changing the authoring version of the power apps studio.
Are you making a standard Power App, or are you perhaps using Power Apps in Teams or editing a SharePoint form? These things can make a difference, so please share all the details.
It is a Custom Page actually!
That seems to be the issue then. Despite that all of these scenarios are branded as Power Apps, behind the scenes there are some differences between them.
Perhaps you can use cascading comboboxes or a search function to limit the amount of items in the combo box, or use a gallery instead (which will come with it's own limitations).
I hope there are near-term plans to have this corrected for Custom Pages. Bit of a drag to not be able to use the native search function on the combo box in an environment where you're guaranteed to be using Dataverse sources (and likely present more than the 500 limit).
