Can't bind global Dataverse choices to ComboBox outside of a form

I have a ComboBox outside of a form that I need to bind its Items to the Choices in a global choice field in my Dataverse table. I have a master table "People" with a choice field "Wish" that has global choices "Wish Choices". Setting the Items to

Choices('Wish Choices')

...resolves with no errors, but the combobox is empty. Setting it to

Choices('Wish')

...isn't an option. I've followed Reza's video here, and it doesn't seem to work that way either... https://youtu.be/Cu8pDo6WpRI?t=457

If I use a Form, the function Choices('Wish Choices') is what appears for the ComboBox in the form.

*NOTE: this is in Dataverse for Teams, not full Dataverse

    Hi @Slemp ,

    Please try this:

    AddColumns(Choices(Test),"Value2",Text(ThisRecord.Value))

//Test is the name of global choice.

Close! It is pulling back the names now (first screenshot of data returned in the function)

But on playing the app, what's showing is a list of numbers... which aren't the "value" integers in the choice table, so I don't know where they came from (second screenshot).

    AddColumns(Choices('Patient Wish Choices'),"Value2",Text(ThisRecord.Value))

I also tried using your function with the "External Value" field on the option column instead of "Value2" and get the same result.

Main table is 'Patients', the column name is 'Patient Wishes', and the choices table is 'Patient Wish Choices'

A colleague said to simply try Choices(Patients.'Patient Wishes') and it has exactly the same result as your AddColumns approach.

    Hi @Slemp ,

It showed the wrong value before I set the field of the combo box.

After setting 'Value2' to it, it returned the right value.

If it doesn't work for you, please try to create another combo box and try again.

    Best Regards,

    Wearsky

Actually it turns out I was just not understanding your screenshot of setting the value on the field. A colleague also showed me that this simpler version works just fine:

    Choices(Patients.'Patient Wishes')

As long as I then add the field and select "Value" as in your screenshots.
