Power Automate error 400 'To' cannot be null or empty -

Hi,

I already posted an issue I have with Power Automate but the solution is not stable.

My flow from Forms to Excel works great but then from Excel to send an email, I have an issue with the calculated columns. In the screenshot below, the fields marked in red are VLOOKUP formulas:

- "Who reports?" brings the name of the manager from the "responder's email"

- "employee ID" and the other 2 bring the information about the ID and the name + email of his/her team leader

All the dynamic contents with the red marks arrive empty in the email. I tried an expression with "last" + "TL's email" but it worked just one day. The expression disappears everyday maybe because of security reasons at work or VPN, I don't know.

The same question works for "Employee ID" I would like to insert in the subject and in the body

Thank you in advance

    Hi @NicoH ,

Are you sure there're values stored in "TL's email" column in your excel?

Seems like the first action in your snap is action that add outputs from MS forms to Excel right?

You mean the fields marked in red are filled by VLOOKUP formulas rather than Power Automate, would you like to add an action "Get a row" to refresh outputs from Excel?

    Hope this would help.

    Thank you for the answer

Yes, answers from MSForms populates 6 sheets in an Excel file according to the answer.

To complete the form faster, just the employee name is asked and once it populates Excel, there are some vlookup formulas to retrieve his/her team leader's name and email address.

The issue is that the column with the team leader's email address doesn't read the result of the vlookup and it is considered as empty.

I have tried get a row but what do I enter in key value because the value changes? It is always the last row added. What shoud I put between add a row and send an email?

    Hi @NicoH ,

    Thanks for further information.

    I agree with your opinion

"The issue is that the column with the team leader's email address doesn't read the result of the vlookup and it is considered as empty."

It means The Excel action in you snap throw out its outputs right before your vlookup works, that's why the dynamic content "TL's email" is blank.

If your excel table has a columns filled with unique values, you can use that column as key column.

If your aim is just to get employee's TL's name and Email address in flow, try below actions:

    Thank you again for clarifying

"If your excel table has a columns filled with unique values, you can use that column as key column. "

It is what I have done in Get a row but what would be the key value?

As you said, I think there is a step with Search for users and I'm close because it worked but the flow sent emails including previous rows.

I keep trying and testing. I keep you posted

    Hi @NicoH ,

For example, "Email_1" is the key column with unique values. Every email will only show up once in this Excel table. And we know that the action in below Excel action will throw out "Email_1" as a dynamic content. It will the key value you need to locate the specific row in Excel.
