There is no Create View Option for Users in Model Driven Apps

Hi All

I know there has been an update recently (grid lines vanished from forms - not a bad thing !!!).  But my users no longer have the option of Creating Personal views - as the option to Create View is now longer on the drop down menu that use to have "import from csv", "import from xml".  Instead I have advised some of my users to use the "Advanced Settings" and go to the Filter Icon (Toast menu) to create their view.

The new Manage and Share Views - I get allows you to alter a view you can see and save as new - but its a bit strange for our users when for instance they want to join with other entities like Notes etc.

Please let me know if I am missing something on this.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @ZiaUddin,

If your users had privileges to create/manage views before then they still do. The experience changed from before, and is much better now IMO. Here are the quick steps to manage views.

    Manage existing views
In the view selector, click "Manage and share views" at the bottom:

You can now hide system views, set default view and even filter the desired views to better manage if there are a lot. For personal views, you can edit their info and share from here as well

    Create new views

To create a new personal views, Edit Filters or Edit Columns on a selected view and you'll see an asterisk next to the view name meaning that the current view was modified.

You can then save as a new view or save the current view at the bottom of the view selector:2022-10-16_13-45-10.png

    Hope this helps!

    Hi

Thanks for this but I already know about this, and it was not what my users of the applications were looking for as they like to create their own views.   However, since you posted this, I did discover that the 'Create View' button can be made available by going to:

the Power Platform Admin Center > selecting the environment > Settings > Features

and from there switching off the Modern Advanced Find feature.   I noticed also that by doing this it also bought the Filter icon on the Toast menu area.  Note also that initially before turning this off I had advised my users to go to the Advanced Settings from the gear menu option of the application, and using the Filter icon from the toast menu that was still visible with the 'Modern Advanced Find' feature for model-driven-apps.

    Thanks,

    Zia
