Planner-comments? Planner bug?

Hi,

 

when I create a planner-task and assign myself to it, there will automatically be two "comments" in the task - "task have created" and "the task have been assigned to.." 

 

when you do a flow with "when a form is submitted - create a planner task, assign person" it works fine, but youll only get one comment instead of two.

 

So, whats the issue you might ask yourself?

No message is sent to the inbox when someone does the first comment in that particular task. Planner will always get two automatic comments when a task is created automatically, but only one comment when its created with power automate -- so you have to comment twice in order for a mail to be sent to the inbox of the assignees. 

 

I have tested to create another flow, "When a task is created in this planner group, wait 30 seconds, and assign this person" works fine, but theres no comment added when these things are done with power automate? 

 

Is there any way around this? Lots of comments are lost because of this

The flow works like a charm, but since there is no way to comment from flow I dont know how to fix this issue. I dont want the users to double-post for it to be sent to assignees inboxes 😞

    I'm getting frustrated by the same thing. Here's the scenario I have:
    • Input: User creates a task with themselves as an assignee through a Power App (task is created with only one comment from the user saying New Task "*******" created). User's notifications settings on the Group Inbox are set to "Receive only replies to you"

    • Expected Result: any future comments on that task by anyone would be copied to that user's inbox along with the group inbox
    • Actual Result: no emails are received in the user's inbox. 
    • Workaround: if the user manually adds an additional comment to the task (there's no way to add a comment with Power Automate/Apps), then they'll receive notifications on subsequent comments
    This is the same bug reported at https://ideas.powerautomate.com/d365community/idea/136bc2e1-a415-4be1-b1f8-827994191372 (I'm guessing by the same user going off the posting date).
