recent change breaking functionality? add media control

In the last week the app I created for my business witch has been working as intended for close to 3 months now, has lost functionality.

Context / Explanation

i made an inspection canvas app using the modern controls
the modern controls work great, like the way they look and function

all of the data for this app is stored in a company SharePoint witch is then referenced by other infrastructure

the users began to report over the last couple days that all of the images within the app would not load inside the gallery or the main form
as an example the image above is a snip from my gallery
image 1 is displayed           thisitem.'Image 1'.small          along with some brief key details  from each entry

this is what it should look like for everyone
on my account when I log in, the images load in their correct slots perfectly

but when a user logs in no images load

I'm using an add media control in my form to collect these images from users

and when a user creates a new entry they see the pictures in the from until they hit submit

then all the pictures seemingly disappear, they are captured by the database just not displayed back to the user of the app

I don't know how this feature functioned in the past but i thought the .media was an actual image file
is seems now to be a text value, is there a way to re render these text values back into images?

in short  i have a problem i cant replicate on my account that only appears on user accounts
nothing else within this week has changed and now i have no images loading in my app

thing i have tried

check for updates to power apps application
check for operating system updates
full uninstall reinstall of app
security permissions inside SharePoint

my colleagues have verified that it works fine on their personal devices
but my users all cannot see

any other information that may be helpful I am happy to provide, I just don't even know where to look

after FAR too Long, I successfully diagnosed the problem

the company SharePoint uses the " old method" of storing images,  inside of a site contents folder  hidden and buried in the SharePoint itself.

one of the first things I did when I encountered this issue was make sure that all of my SharePoint permissions were correct,

they were correct in the configuration that had worked for close to 3 months up to this point. So in my original diagnosis I excluded that as a potential possibility, because it was "correct" .

    The Fix:

what seemed to happen is a change or update to the SharePoint api, broke a cascading permission that i had running
everyone can see -> group has see + edit permission -> small team in group get delete access
and if you weren't explicitly given access to the Site contents/ site assets folder, no images would be loaded inside of the list in SharePoint, and no images would load in my app even thought,    " everyone in your organization" was already applied to this folder

I granted the second tier group implicit access to that site assets folder and all images populated and correctly display

my suspision is that one of these "updates" broke the "everyone in organization" permission
Selecting this photo will take you to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, where that information was gathered

these updates are the most likely suspects
as they fit the date range and are relevant to the information discussed here.
