Do you mean that when you use powerapps to update excel, the excel field is locked?
Please check:
1)whether you connect with one drive or choose "import from excel"?
If you choose "import from excel", this kind of excel table is read-only.
2)whether you have access to write data in that excel table?
3)whether other people open this excel field , open this excel file in other window?
You cannot have an excel spreadsheet open and being used at the same time a powerapps app is editing it. also if you happen to have multiple devices running powerapps simultaneously and two or three of them (this is rare odds wise but happens) try to edit a spreadsheet at the exact same moment you will also get an error.
