Send email on behalf of shared mailbox from model driven app

Dear community

Requirement:

  • Send Email from model driven app timeline of a contact ON BEHALF of a shared mailbox (NOT send as)

What have I done so far:

  1. successfully enabled shared mailbox

  2. Created a queue and added shared mailbox as mailbox of the queue

  3. Shared Queue with my test user
    BabaMalaika29_2-1675096766829.png

     

  4. made sure that my testusers security role has READ and APPEND TO permission for the Queue table

  5. made sure that my testuser has SEND ON BEHALF permissions for the shared mailbox

Outcome so far:

  • Send Email from Outlook Online works as expected

  • Send Email from model driven app arrives but only SEND AS

Any ideas what I am missing in my configuration?

    MS support ticket brought now the solution.

    there seems to be a bug in the OrgDBSetting "EnableMailboxDelegationForOutgoingEmail". the setting looks by default as TRUE, but the source code revealed that it is initially FALSE.

    To change it to true: 

    1. download  OrganizationSettingsEditor tool
    2. look for the above setting and click once on ADD
    3. close the editor again
    4. completely log out of the environment and login in again to test

     

    EnableMailboxDele...
