Dataflow running order

Hi lovely Community,

just have created some Dataflows and would like to combine some queries.

I already have recognized the process order of my queries in the refresh history protocol.

Is there a way to set up the running order for processing?

Especially for relations of table it would be great. E.g.: TableA (1) : TableB (n)

So I would like to ensure all query steps of TableA running before TableB querie steps..

Any ideas? Is it the way of creation in Dataflow? So Query1 would run first cause I've created it first?

BR,

Sven

    HI @KSven,

Are both TableA and TableB importing into the same Dataverse table/entity? If you have two Dataflows then the only way to order is by the refresh time.

    Thanks

    Hi @EricRegnier ,

no both tables are in their own Table in Dataverse.

Its hard to schedule 2 Dataflows regarding the performance cause count of records could be different and currently I can't estimate Dataflows very well.

Would be great to trigger them with REST API and Power Automate like Power BI Dataflows / Datasets.

Any chance to get this Feature? 🙂

I will try to split the dataflows and harmonize it with starting time, but for me its not a stable solution...

    BR,

    Sven

Yeah that would be great. You can vote here for that idea: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Power-Apps-Ideas/Ability-to-trigger-Dataverse-Dataflow-from-Power-Automate/idi-p/759923

@KSven did you find another solution? I also have a Dataflow with two entities, where entity B relies on entity A, but entity B is executed first, giving an error that it cannot find the related record for entity A...
I have added a link back in the PowerQuery from entity A into entity B; I thought this would force the dataflow to execute entity A first and then entity B, but that doesn't do the trick 😞

    Hi @KoenJanssensPD ,

you can use Power Automate to schedule your Dataflows in desired order:

Trigger when Dataflow is finished (with "success")

    Refresh another dataflow:
