PowerApps CoE Center of Excellence Governance solution

Hi,

I've installed the CoE and would like to import the Governance solution to explore features, and begin planning how we'd like to implement PowerApp developer/makes governance in the future.

Before I import the Governance solution I'd just like to clarify if this is going to change anything for developers/makers of new or existing apps across our tenant.

Specifically, I don't want developers and makers of existing heavily used canvas and model-driven apps, to encounter any obstacles as they're adding new elements or flows to existing apps, and also don't want to impact makers creating new apps and automation flows.

So does importing the solution implement any immediate, noticeable changes to the PowerApps experience, and are there features that will implement governance controls that we can switch on at a later stage?

Thanks!
Mick

Short answer NO, there is no impact on users.

Importing governance solution alone doesn't impact your makers.

Yes, you can enable(TURN ON) the flows later depending on the governance features you would like to utilize.

You can enable the below features individually from the governance solution.

    • Compliance process
    • Inactivity process
    • Microsoft teams governance
    • Quarantine process

The article below explains each process in detail.

Caution: Make sure to test each process in a development environment. Otherwise, there is a risk of sending emails to everyone in the org.

Make sure to set "ProductionEnvironment" variable to NO in a development environment.
